"Through contemplative prayer we can keep ourselves from being pulled from one urgent issue to another and from becoming strangers to our own heart and God's heart."

-- Henri Nouwen

Rhythms of the Spirit

Do you struggle for balance between prayer and activity?
Do you long for more silence and solitude in your life and ministry?

This conference, offered in a retreat style, is a unique opportunity
to explore and practice the contemplative life together.

Welcome! In an age of overstimulation and constant electronic connection, we are in danger of losing the spaces in which we can hear God speaking and restore our souls.  This conference is all about coming to a place of peace and entering a rhythm in which we can commune with God and friends.  I strongly encourage you to break away to enter this new rhythm for your spirit.

Ben Mott, President & CEO

Essential to the mission of the church is the interweaving of our life in Christ and our life in the world.  Their intersection is a holy place where God’s redemptive work is at play.  For prayer is the womb from which a richer imagination of life together springs forth and loving servanthood its handmaid.  Rhythms is a wonderful opportunity to explore their essential balance and interplay in your life.

Roy Medley, General Secretary
American Baptist Churches, USA

As you'll see in the schedule below, we'll focus on your own spiritual practice providing time to develop solitude and silence, creating the expansive space necessary to welcome God's voice.

We hope you can join us.

Rene Colson Hudson and Brad Berglund
